General House Rules & Conditions


I WISH YOU TO HAVE A COMFORTABLE AND PLEASANT STAY. IN ORDER TO FACILITATE THE SMOOTH OPERATION OF THE FACILITY IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT THE CUSTOMER ACCEPTS OUR GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS.

 1. Check-In:

It is very important that I have a close-to- reliable time for arrival as I am the only person available throughout the day to arrange access, until keys are provided. There is no Reception.

It is simply impossible to stay in and attend to all arrivals from 12.00 to 8.00 p.m. or later without knowing when guests are expecting to arrive, especially with diversions and road works etc.

It is strongly advised to have a mobile phone to contact me to give reasonable notice on the day. In my absence, alternative arrangements are sometimes made which allows guests to enter of their own accord. It is practical and convenient for both concerned but not regularly encouraged.

Arrivals are usually anticipated from 4.00 p.m. on weekdays, 2 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Earlier arrivals can be arranged subject to agreement (e.g. weddings etc.) and depending on room readiness. At worst, keys can be collected and baggage dropped off from 12.00. 

2. CHECK-OUT TIME

IF A  ROOM IS TO BE OCCUPIED ON THE SAME DAY BY NEW GUESTS   THEN WE HAVE TO ASK YOU TO VACATE BY 10.30. WE CAN BE FLEXIBLE ON THIS BUT PLEASE ASK JUST IN CASE.

3. OCCUPANCY / HEATING/ WASHING & DRYING:

THE BUSINESS IS PRINCIPALLY A BED AND BREAKFAST FACILITY.  THERE ARE NO LODGERS. IT IS NOT EXPECTED THAT ROOMS ARE OCCUPIED ALL DAY LONG, AND HEATING ETC. IS NOT PROVIDED FOR THAT PURPOSE.

HEATING IS INTERMITTENTLY ON BETWEEN 17.00 - 09.30. LESS SO BETWEEN 01 MARCH AND 30 SEPTEMBER.

PLEASE ANTICIPATE THE LOCAL CLIMATE.

PORTABLE HEATERS CANNOT BE BROUGHT TO PREMISES AS APPLIANCES POSE FIRE RISKS AND NEED PAT TESTED. 

THERE IS NO WASHING OR DRYING FACILITY AS MACHINES ARE FOR BUSINESS USE.

4. BREAKFAST TIME

PLEASE CLARIFY TIMING OF YOUR BREAKFAST THE NIGHT BEFORE AND BE PUNCTUAL. BREAKFAST IS PREPARED TO ORDER AND IS NOT A BUFFET.

IF I AM NOT AVAILABLE TO DISCUSS YOUR BREAKFAST, TEXT OR EMAIL ME. I CHECK REGULARLY.

ANY ADVICE AS TO PREFERENCES OR NON-PREFERENCES WILL BE HELPFUL AS I TRY TO AVOID WASTE.

CEREAL.

FRUIT / YOGHURT - depends on season and occupancy.

TEA / COFFEE. TOAST.

SAUSAGE. BACON. EGG. BEANS. MUSHROOM. VINE TOMATOES.  

LIGHTLY FRIED, OR PREPARED IN OVEN WHEN FULL.

MONDAY - FRIDAY :  0700 - 0900  (CONFIRM YOUR TIME THE NIGHT BEFORE)

 SATURDAY - SUNDAY 0800 -  09.30 (CONFIRM YOUR TIME THE NIGHT BEFORE) 

IF WE ARE QUITE FULL, THERE MAY BE TWO OR THREE SITTINGS.   IT IS GENERALLY EXPECTED THAT 30 MINUTES IS ADEQUATE PER SITTING TO ALLOW TABLES TO BE RESET. THANKS.

                

5. NON-SMOKING PREMISES  - A STRONG WARNING!                                                   

THE LAW [AND BUSINESS INSURANCE] REQUIRES THAT THE GUEST HOUSE IS A NON-SMOKING PROPERTY.

THE POLICE WILL BE CALLED IF THE LAW IS BROKEN. 

SMOKING OUT OF WINDOWS IS EQUALLY PROHIBITED.

THERE IS NO DESIGNATED OUTDOOR SMOKING AREA / CANOPY.

 

6. RESPECT AND CONSIDERATION TOWARDS OTHER GUESTS AND THE FAMILY HOME

I OPERATE THE PREMISES AS A GUEST HOUSE AND FAMILY HOME.  FAMILIES STAY AS GUESTS.

 IT IS EXPECTED THAT GUESTS WILL COME AND GO BEFITTING THE PURPOSE OF THEIR STAY - DOOR KEYS ARE PROVIDED. SECURE PREMISES AT ALL TIMES.

PLEASE DO NOT HOST VISITORS AFTER 21.00 AND REFRAIN FROM EXCESSIVE MOVEMENT BETWEEN ROOMS AND AROUND PREMISES AFTER 11.00 PM. TURN TVS DOWN AND SWITCH OFF BATHROOM LIGHTS - ESPECIALLY THOSE WHERE THERE ARE FANS AS THEY CAN BE HEARD IN THE SILENCE OF THE NIGHT!

PLEASE BE MINDFUL NOT TO USE INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE AND MAKE  UNDUE  NOISE, ESPECIALLY DURING SLEEPING HOURS E.G. SHOWERING PAST 11.00 PM. OR BEFORE 0630 IN THE WEEK [0730 AT WEEKENDS].

 DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL EXCESSIVELY (THE BUSINESS IS NOT LICENSED TO SELL ALCOHOL).

 DRESS APPROPRIATELY AROUND OTHER GUESTS.

THE KITCHEN IS STRICTLY A PRIVATE AREA [ESPECIALLY BECAUSE OF FOOD & HYGIENE and HEALTH & SAFETY REGULATIONS].

THE BREAKFAST ROOM IS USED ONLY AT BREAKFAST TIMES.


7. TAKE-AWAY MEALS

TAKE-AWAY MEALS AND DRINKS MAY  BE CONSUMED IN THE ROOMS. BE MINDFUL TO COLLECT DELIVERY AT FRONT DOOR; I CANNOT BRING UP TO THE ROOM OR PAY :) AND DO NOT APPRECIATE DELIVERY PERSONS WALKING INTO THE PREMISES. DO NOT ORDER AFTER 21.00 OR HOST BANQUETS FOR OTHERS!

PLEASE TAKE UTMOST CARE TO AVOID ANY SOILING OR STAINING OF BEDDING AND CARPETS. 

PLEASE DO NOT USE THE BREAKFAST ROOM OR TAKE CUTLERY AND CROCKERY. ASK IF YOU REQUIRE THESE ITEMS BETWEEN 17.00 AND 20.00

7. QUALITY OF ACCOMMODATION AND SERVICE:

EVERY ENDEAVOUR IS MADE TO  SATISFY GUESTS' EXPECTATIONS AND MEET THE VISIT WALES  3* GRADING CRITERIA ( NOT IN ALL ASPECTS) FOR A GUEST HOUSE, BUT PLEASE APPRECIATE THAT WE  ARE NOT  RUN ALONG THE LINES OF A HOTEL. 

 I AM REMINDED OF A NOTICE I HAVE SEEN ELSEWHERE WHICH SAYS:

IF YOU LIKE  WHAT WE OFFER TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND WRITE A REVIEW ON TRIP ADVISOR, IF YOU HAVE A COMPLAINT PLEASE TELL US.

 8. DAMAGE/LOSSES

GUESTS WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE OR PERSONAL  INJURY THEY MAY CAUSE OR INCUR AT THE PREMISES. WE CANNOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LOSSES WITHIN THE PREMISES OR IN THE CAR PARK. PLEASE LOCK YOUR ROOM, FRONT DOOR AND CAR.

IF YOU LOSE KEYS PLEASE REIMBURSE FOR  REPLACEMENT. IF YOU TAKE THEM HOME PLEASE POST BACK. THANKS.
